Why Not?

Victor Frankenstein is an incredibly arrogant person I think. He likes to think about himself and how much trouble he would get in if he tried to tell everybody what really happened to all of those innocent people. Victor seriously could have fixed this problem before anything even started to happen. To begin with, he should never have tried to be God and give life to any creature of his own. He also should never have abanodoned his creation to live life without anybody to show him the proper way to do things. The monster wanted Victor to love him and if he could have at least shown the slightest bit of affection, maybe the whole novel would have been a happier ending instead of the dark dreary one that happens. Victor also doesnt even think about how much pain and suffering he caused the monster and even his family to feel. Victor still did not realize how much danger he put his loved one in until one by one, they slipped away forever from him. I wish that Victor would have realized how much good he could have shown the monster and that maybe he couldve helped create a stronger race of humans... The monster had incredible abilities. He was shot and lived. He showed an incredible amount of strength to be able to continue on for months and months leading Victor to the north. I just wonde what good could have become of this monster if only Victor had helped him in the beginning.

What do you think: Would the story be completely different if Victor would have loved his creation from the beginning? Or do you think the monster still would have learned the evils of the world and killed a bunch of innocent people?

  1. I really think that the story would be differnet if Vicotr loved the monster instead of hating him. There qouldn't be killing or hate. Great Question!

  2. I this this story would be very different. Even tho the monster would encounter some evil and commit some sin he would still turn out better. I think that if Victor showed him love that the monster would prob have used his strength to protect Victors family.
