The first few chapters of Frankenstein were surprisingly interesting. Usually i hate reading old books i cant understand but this book is really good.
One part of these chapters really stood out because i can relate to how young victor was as a child. He was an only child and was cherished by his parents but his mother still longed for a daughter. This is how i was when i was younger....I had two brothers along with me and i knew my parents wanted another child. I hoped and wished for a baby sister and when my parents brought her home i had always claimed her as mine just as victor did with Elizabeth. I like this part a lot because the connection between the two children was very special and victor liked to claim that Elizabeth was his and that he felt very protective of her and never wanted her out of his sight. I felt the same way over my little sister Eden. I always wanted somebody to play with and to have as a companion so when i finally got her i always protected her and never let her out of my sight. Victor says that there was a very strong loving relationship between Elizabeth and himself; he felt that when she did something good and recieved something for it that the prize also belonged to him because she was truely his. I also have felt this way about Eden because i help her with something and look out for her so when she does something right and its good i feel responsible and happy, because i too feel like i have accomplished what she had done.
I still feel this way about my little baby sister. I hope to learn more about Victor and Elizabeth later on in the book because it reminds me so much of myself.
